Transportation Study For Region of Mumbai
Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Sub Regions
· Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) commissioned a Comprehensive Transportation Study for MMR entitled "TRANSFORM" (Transportation Study For the Region of Mumbai) under Technical Assistance Programme of on-going World Bank funded Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP). The study is aimed at
Capturing current Travel pattern of residents of MMR covering all Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and the Rural Portions of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and
Assessing future travel requirements in the region.
· In "TRANSFORM" all necessary field surveys will be conducted and scientific models will be developed to help in determining the present deficiencies in the transportation (system) and estimate Future travel requirements of the residents of MMR.
· "TRANSFORM" will propose transport improvements for all modes including Commuter Rail System, Highway Network Development, Bus System improvements, etc; consistent with long term strategy till the year 2031. A phase wise program for the medium and long term Transport projects will be identified.
· The MMRDA has retained leading consulting firms - M/S LEA International Ltd. Canada, in Joint Venture with LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd. (LASA), and AC Neilson ORG Marg Pvt. Ltd. as sub consultant for this task.
· MMRDA INVITES YOUR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION, IN HELPING THE INVESTIGATING TEAM, BY COOPERATING WITH THEM IN PROVIDING NECESSARY INFORMATION DURING INTERVIEWS EITHER AT HOME OR AT ROADSIDE, OR DURING RAILWAY OR BUS JOURNEYS WHENEVER THEY APPROACH YOU.
