Sir/Madam,
In order to improve traffic and transportation facilities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and improvement of mobility, accessibility to the commuters of MMR and enhance their quality of life, MMRDA with assistance of World Bank has initiated Comprehensive Transportation Study (CTS) for MMR. The main focus of the study is to collect household, land use, socio-economic profile of the citizens of MMR by way of conducting the household surveys, preparation of phase-wise investment programme for various modes up to 2016 and to recommend the long term CTS up to year 2026.
In this context, the World Bank and MMRDA have appointed M/s. LEA International Ltd., Canada to carry out the CTS. The consultants have just commenced the study in February 2005. The study duration will be 18 months with LEA Associates South Asia Pvt Ltd (LASA) as Joint Venture and the household survey and various concerned traffic surveys will be collected in the first 4 months i.e., February to May 2005. In this context, the consultant will be approaching to collect the necessary data and information from your organization.
You are requested to kindly extend your co-operation and provide all necessary data and information to ensure that the objectives of the study are achieved and study completes in time.
Since the study focus is on the infrastructure development for the region, it is pertinent that all available necessary inputs and the future plans of your organization be provided to the consultants. for this purpose, we suggest that a nodal officer from your organization be appointed to interact with the consultants to provide inputs to the study and get benefited.
