Traffic Surveys
The purpose of conducting primary surveys is to generate transportation and related parameters database and to update the existing or old databases for the same. The analysis of primary data along with secondary information is used for an objective understanding of the transportation system mainly in following terms:
· Assessment of the quantum and context of problems (Diagnosis)
· Assessment of relationships between Traffic and Transportation pattern and related parameters (Abstraction)
Glimpse of Road-Side Surveys:
Diagnosis and abstraction are further used in the transportation planning process to build models, of the urban transportation system, with predictive capabilities. The various traffic surveys to be conducted for the study are listed below:
· Household Interview Survey.
· Classified Traffic Volume Count Survey.
· Road Side Interview (Origin-Destination) Survey.
· Classified traffic volume count at Intersections capturing all movements.
· Non-Motorized traffic and Pedestrian count.
